    My Pocket PC Dream Phone

So even before this phone came out, I've been dreaming up a list of what next I want. 2010 maybe? new every 2? Hopefully!

Mini HDMI output, Microvision’s RGB laser projector, Camera embedded on screen side to do video conference chat with skype, multitouch of course, Windows Mobile 7, Dual core proc, >=1 gig of ram and >=5 gigs of rom. Memory stick capable of 100 gigs or more.

Please add yours to the list

    well, since you asked

If the bump from the i730 to the i760 is any indicator, I would guess that in 2010 you will see a device that is basically the i760, but with:

    windows mobile 7
    14-15mm thick form factor
    2mp camera
    evdo rev a (despite LTE's on-going roll-out)
    (still)no gps
    (still)64mb ram
    (still)128mb flash, maybe 256
a 300mhz processor that is "just as fast" as the 400mhz
and finally, the call & end buttons will continue their journey, ending up on the back of the device... many users will complain of accidental hangups, while others will claim to have "adapted"

and much like the i730->i760 changeover, people will be so sick of their current device that everyone will make the leap just because it's marginally better than its predecessor, due in no small part to the new OS... and verizon will get away with charging a premium for mildly upgraded hardware.

too harsh? Edit: Or too familiar? Zing!

No not at all, of course this all before real competition ah hem(apple) entered the market. Apple has great innovation but they've really missed the boat with 3rd party software. The whole phone industry was caught off guard with the iphone and now they just don't have any more excuses not be be any more innovative.

That's exactly why I'm excited about the new handhelds, I can't wait to see the serious contenders. Underscore serious, not copycats. I guess I'll have to keep emailing my enhancement requests to samsung, I think they read them.
