Exclamation Woke up and found the phone dead

This is my second day with the phone, so far everything wonderful.

I put the phone on the charger last night, had an alarm set this morning. Alarm went off, hit the dismiss button. Went and got coffee and did some other things and came back -- phone was off. Hit the backlight button, nothing. Held it down, nothing. Checked everything. So I just took the battery off and put it back on and then it turned on. This happening to anyone else?

You could have used the Stylus and pushed the "soft reset" hold on the left side of the keyboard.

I do that at least 2 times a week for one reason or another.

Your phone, however if you haven't loaded up with software should not be having issues required a soft or hard reset.

I've never had that happen either... I don't think its common.

I do have to do soft resets a few times a week though because of the supposed memory leak most of us have.

I have had it freeze and had to take the stylus to the recessed red button on the keyboard, but never just go completely dead.
Looks like the soft resets are the equivalent of a nap for the i760.

I have yet to see a WM phone that doesn't have a memory leak or needs a reset every once in a while

Since owning the phone I have only had one lockup where the screen wouldn't come back on, and a simple soft reset fixed it. Since then I occasionally have to soft reset because of sluggish behavior, but in general, the i760 has been far more stable than my i730.

If you continually get a black screen like that, I would suggest to do a hard reset and setup your device again, and see what happens after that. I am still doing a hard reset roughly once every month or two, just to keep it fresh, and the newest versions of the software on the device.

Also, becaeful about installing sw/files to the sd card. THis may cause it to lock up if the device is in sleep mode and the sw needs to access the strage card but it is not accesable.

did u remember to charge your phone? some batteries tend to do this when not being charged an initial 8 hours or have the full discharge/recharge cycle, this happened to my Q9m(3 of the 5 units i had) prior to having the i760
