    hotmail & I760 question

I go into my hotmail account on my phone and login.
When I click to open one of my emails it sends me back
to the hotmail login page. I log in again and sometimes
it opens the email, or it goes into the first page again and
I click to open and loops me back to login page. The other
issue is it will never open any attachements on email. Any
help is appreciated because without these functions this
phone is useless for me and my work.

Are you trying to use the regular site or the mobile version? Try mobile.live.com/hm/folder.aspx

Thanks for quick response. I am opening IE and then
clicking on hotmail on the home page and login from there.
I just went to mobile.live you posted and it gave me an error.

Did you go to mobile.live.com from your phone's Pocket IE browser? that should work.

Yes I did go to mobile.live.com and it still loops
back to signin page when I click to open an email.
Thanks for the responses, I am stuck with something
I thought should be so simple. I will have to take this
phone back if this doesn't work. Any other ideas?

First thing they'll make you do anyway before accepting it back will be a hard reset... so you might as well give that a shot first and see if that fixes it, just make sure you backup anything you might need. Personally, I'd be pulling the email directly from their server with pocket outlook, assuming live/hotmail has IMAP. Is there a reason you're not going that route?

^I don't think the online email can do that but I will check.
I also have vista on my comp and when I link my phone
with windows mobile device center it does not give me any
way to back up my contacts unless I have outlook. I never
run outlook and don't even have it installed on my comp.
Isn't there another way to back up my contacts?

online email can do that quite easily. It is a question of whether or not hotmail can.

Not that I am an expert or anything but I found that if you go to mobile.msn.com from your IE it will then allow you to sign in. You have to go to the bottom of the page. You may have to log out and then refresh the page and then log back in again. That should work or I should say that it has worked for me.

Ps. If you find another way to get your email on the front of your screen with instant notification please let me know.

You can also install Windows Live Services as described in this thread. It is there by default in some devices. It will integrate your hotmail into the messaging application. It works pretty well, although I have found the "as items arrive" push feature to be sporadic, often needing to manually do a send/receive.

You can't add a Hotmail account in the traditional way that you can with some online email. At least I have not been able to. However, I have never had a problem getting there with web access from the device either. You might try clearing your cookies.
