    is Wifi supposed to DC on sleep...

    and reconnect on wake? is this normal or is there a way to make it be connected even in sleep mode?

    I recently noticed the same thing. and just by how things have been going I'm betting there is no fix for it as of yet.

    well that sucks now i need for it not to sleep when waiting for a IM on agile messenger or a skype call

    That is the way mine has always worked. Just to be clear, personally I would not want my WiFi to stay connected in sleep mode as that would defeat the battery-saving purpose of sleep mode. Also, I'm referring to sleep mode, not turning it off completely and then back on again.
