I don't run Vista, so this comment may be utterly useless, but it sounds to me like you're syncing only in one direction... from PC to i760. Surely there is a way to direct the software to sync in both directions (my syncs look for changes on both the PC and the phone, so contacts that are on the phone are added to Outlook)?!?!

By the way, there have been a number of discussions here about problems syncing in Vista. I don't have time to find them, but I bet you'll find them with a fairly simple forum search.

gsxr310, I can help as I run Vista Ultimate 64, You will use Windows Mobile Device Center as Vista don't have Active Sync.

    1) Start > settings > Connections > USB to PC > Uncheck "Enable advanced network Functionality".

    2) Connect phone to PC with provided USB cable.

    3) It will walk yo through the NEW Partnership.

    4) Then select via checked box's what you want sync'ed.

Any problems let me know. Thanks, JASTECH

JASTECH, hey thanks for the quick reply!!!! so i did steps 1-2.. and now it shows an icon on the i760 on the lower right corner saying "connected to USB serial". i open up wmdc (on my notebook) and it also says it's connected, but it will not "walk me through the new partnership menu...." any more suggestions?

gsxr310, if it came with Vista64 then it's up to date enough. Ok, once your connected and you see the screen there should be a Settings for the device. That's where you can tell it New Partnership. Also, make sure you "UNCHECKED" that box I told you about.

Do you have Outlook installed? If so they should synch to the contacts folder in Outlook.

Screenshots of setting up a partnership here:

Outlook is part of MS Office. Contacts don't synch with Windows mail. There may be some low cost programs you can install on your notebook that you can synch phone contacts too, but I don't know the names of any.

Anyway, you have solved your dilemma -- you can't move them to your notebook because you don't have a program that they can synch to installed on the notebook.

I see, he was calling Windows Mail "Outlook". That is why it didn't sync. I have Office Corperate Edition and forgot Vista64 don't come with Outlook. gsxr310, sorry I didn't see that first time around. You should be able to download it also.
    LTRS, thanks for catching it
