    HTC Diamond Controls

I saw a youtube of the HTC Diamond, and their updated version of HTC Home is very nice, among other upgrades.

Just wondering if XDA Developers have ripped the software yet.. I looked at their forums but couldn't find much.

Yes it is available there. I have it for Mobile Shell on my phone and LOVE it. Guess I'll lose it when my free MS Mobile Shell trial runs out....

You ask a question pertaining to the XDA site and want your answer here? Go to the XDA site and search and or post your question there. Pull it back buddy?
I am also a active member of the XDA burning ROMS ect. for the HTC's and working on the Diamond. They don't like all the n00b's asking very basic questions and not using the "Search" and then just about demanding answers "When will this be done"..."Can you fix this".."I need this ROM soon". So maybe go to the XDA site and post a question asking "When something will be out on the PDAPhoneHome site" and lets see what the response is. Think about your question, an action gets a reaction. Thanks, JASTECH

slosho, right now there isn't much interest in the i760 ROM. The HTC Diamond and the HTC Dream (Android OS) is the top choice. I have SDK's for both but right now I am working on WM6.1 for my 6700 and will have it done and running this next week. Thanks, JASTECH

There's plenty of interest in an i760 ROM, and people working on it too. Well maybe not "plenty" of people, but some people... Well maybe not "some" ... probably not a "few" either... OK, I can say with 99.4% "sureity" that a couple of people are most likely working on an i760 ROM.

Seriously though, we're kind of stuck at a fork in the road. With the alleged WM6.1 upgrade coming out, that means we could have a reference ROM to build cooked roms from. A ROM that is built for the i760's ... unique structure. Without that 6.1 upgrade ROM from vzw via Samsung a la Micro$oft, we're left with having to [REENIGNE] the i760 ROM and build a flasher from scratch. So those are the two paths at the fork in the road to an i760 ROM.
I bet you can guess what path I am waiting to take!!

BTW- if you get the little word puzzle I stuck in there, I'll give you extra geek points.
I wouldn't say I've been missing it Bob.

alquimista, I was talking about where I am at with XDA, LOL. I am enjoying the Android quality, that a long with the VGA screen will be a plus. I hope electricity still exists by the time the i760 ROM is finished. j/k

Sorry if i don't completely understand phone architecture, but if the the ROM gets fully developed, at that point we would be able to do things like run android... correct?

slosho, If there is support in Android for the i760. The HTC phones are doing well on it but they have different hardware so we would have to re-write some of Android's code for the i760 and I don't think there is enough demand for it at XDA.

they HAVE ripped some really cool stuff from the Touch Diamond that is working perfectly on my i760 so far:

MP3 Trimmer - easily turn any song on your phone into a ringtone and use only the part that you want.

Opera 9 Full - does not require a java install but does have to be installed on internal memory... 4MB! very nice web browser.

Adobe Reader LE - nice pdf reader, a littl smoother and more user friendly than Picsel.

    Good stuff!

That's because it is WM software, when it gets to what written for the hardware then thats a problem. Android won't work on the i760 but maybe LiMo will do to it's open source.
