    Webpage youtube not m.youtube!

    Hello,

On my i760 using Internet Explorer I'm trying to get to the main YouTube home page....but my browser keeps going to www.m.youtube instead of www.youtube

Any ideas why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance!

By the way it's my first post to the forum! Lot's of good info here! I've been searching and lurking before actually becoming a member.

it happens because some well coded websites will detect what web browser (i.e. firefox, IE v6, IE v7, safari, or a mobile version of the preceeding) is requesting the page, then based on the browser it i will change the page that is displayed.

the idea is that you have a little screen, not a big monitor.

some mobile browsers will let you modify how they represent themselves, however i dont htink you can do this with pocket IE built in.

also, usually the page will let you change from 'moblie' version to 'classic' version by clicking on a link, so look around for that link...

    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

There should be an option on the mobile page to view in "Classic View".

    Just bookmark this URL.

    Thank you!

As an aside....I was sent a fix in a PM also.

    Use the following: "www.youtube.com/?nomobile=1"
    and it also worked.

Also sign up for SkyFire, it displays every webpage as you are viewing it from a regular cpu.

I signed up for Skyfire but I'm on the beta 2 list. I guess I'll be waiting for an email or text letting me know when to download. Thanx for the tip though! It looks slick!

There is. It's at the bottom of the page. Not too hard to find.
