    Alternate OS for i760?

Ever since I got my i760, I've loved the phone but have been underwhelmed with Windows Mobile 6.1. Does anyone out there have any idea whether it'll be possible to install one of the other OS' being developed out there like Android?

Your phone is running WM 6.0, not 6.1 There is a rumor that VZW will be releasing 6.1 for the i760 soon.

As far as I know, no, there is no way to get another OS on the device. If you don't like the OS, you could try a BlackBerry or go to Cingular and get a shiny new iPhone.

Tid-Bit: I actually didn't know this until recently, but VZW was offered the iPhone first by apple, and they refused because Apple would not release tech specs to VZW so they could perform in house repairs.

That sound like VZW, plus they would want to cripple th edevice so much Apple wold have been disapointed in the results. Well they are getting the new BlackBerry Thunder that is touch screen. Sorry, back to the question at hand. I think there will be a Android version (Universal) that will work on the i760. But with part of the ROM written in Chinese it might need to have a new ROM cooked in the kitchen. Thanks, JASTECH
