    Charge through sync cable?

I had another phone before the i760 that would charge through the sync cable; however, this one keeps losing battery power even though it seems like this should be possible to do.

How can I charge the i760 through the sync cable?

For some reason (don't ask me why) the USB cable Samsung provides the new i760 does not charge. Again, makes no sense to me - I don't know if they are trying to avoid lawsuits or trying to get you to buy an official cradle. You will need to by a 3rd party cable to charge/sync.

You can't. Sorry. Not with the supplied one. I think there's another cable that you can buy that works, but I don't have the link.

Hrmm...is it the cable itself that disables this ability? With my previous phone, it wouldn't charge by default through usb either, but there was some software I could use to make it charge.

well if you can find software to make the factory cable charge and sync let us know - but the cable that I have that does both, is a much larger cable - it would lead me to suggest that the factory cable doesn't have the same capacity. Good Luck w/ the software idea...

cmustin, welcome to PDAPhoneHome.com. I hope you find the site as informative and helpful as I have.

One of the things we ask users to do before posting a question is to read the FAQs (posted at the top of the forum) and search the forum. In this case, the FAQs address the inability to charge using the OEM sync cable. Therefore, I'm going to close this thread.
