    Bolt Browser

Has anyone tried this browser yet? it uses JBED like Opera Mini. it's a goofy little thing but after using the magnification feature for a while I am starting to really like it.

    Interesting find.

    How do I install it?

All I have is a .jad file downloaded to my phone. When I click on it I get a message that says" This file is not associated with any application."

    ??

So, I guess this begs the question - what can it do that Opera Mini cannot? I'm pretty happy my Opera Mini/Skyfire combo atm.

It has a magnification view with split screen instead of just the standard zoom in/zoom out.

i have been beta testing/using it on the bb curve for a couple months and i dont like it. it has to go thru their servers to render increasing load times. it was sluggish as well.
you can go right to youtube and play videos but it takes time to render because again it has to be streamed from youtube to bitstreams servers THEN to your device...

    i took it off yesterday...

    I really like this.

I was just admiring my friend's G1 last night and this Bolt Browser is very very close to the native google browser on the G1.

I like the Xlarge scale setting in full screen and I just finger navigate around.

I'm eager to play with this for awhile.
    Very cool!

Actually pretty interseting. With this screen size the zoom doesn't make sense to me and since thevideo playback doesn't work I am back to OM. Also I don't like the fonts it uses.

    I just checked it out...
My initial feeling is that I don't care for it.

It seems to be pretty unresponsive via the split screen, and the web site rendering is not as "pretty" as OM.

It was usable, and I'm sure I'd love it if I didn't have OM.

I'll play with it some more and give it a chance.

For now, it's SkyFire and OM for me.

On another note, does anyone know how to install to JBed with an OperaMini self install cab?

The OM Install cab hides the JBed program, so everytime I want to run it, it has to "install" to JBed, because I can't get an icon outside of JBed.

    Any ideas?

You mention that you use OM and Skyfire. Why both? They are pretty similar.

I use Skyfire most of the time, Picsel Browser for sites where the continuous zooming is useful (Skyfire is so close on the zooming, but Picsel has them beat), and IE very occasionally.
