    SMTP Mail to End

Received a letter from Verizon yesterday that says they will stop the SMTP Mail Relay service at the end of August. I believe when you go into the Messaging and set up a new email account this is what you are using. When this service ends what are our options?

found this on the verizon fourm " I found a work around though. It was as simple as adding :587 to the end of the outgoing SMTP server (i.e. mail.optonline.net:587). This changes the port assignment.

You might want to do some researching on the internet and see if you can find out a work around for you provider. "
I need to see if it will work for gmail

That's probably only going to be an issue if you use their SMTP server. If you're using a different POP3 e-mail service that shouldn't affect you.

As I understand it when you use the Verizon outgoing mail server this is the service that will end. The other option is to use wireless sync, which I don't use right now.
