20.00 to walk out of a store with a 4gb I dont feel is too much. I was at the mall, decided I wanted it, looked a few stores (killing time while the wife was shopping) and a 2gb micro sd was 29.99 at a few stores.
Ebay is one way to go.. but if you want something that day...the convience is worth it at times.

From SDHC Cab file to windows Mobile 6.1
I've had the Samsung I760 since it came out. I installed the SDHC cab file with my 4 gig card to use it. I had many songs and photos and a few programs. I updated to Windows Mobile 6.1 about a month or so ago and I just noticed that I can't see my music and or photos or programs. When I look at the memory indicator it show the same amount of memory being used as when I could see all the stuff...about 2.5 gig. It still shows that being used, but I can't find anything...any suggestions?

Yup, be careful what you wish for . . . I have the same issue. There are a few threads about this if you can search you might find some things that have worked for a few people. None of them worked for me and I've lost a ton of pics and videos from my SD card.
I have to reinstall all of the programs and I'm just tired of it. Between this stupidity and the worthless Activestink I think I'm done with WinMo phones for now.
So for anyone new using the 6.1 upgrade- make sure you are backing up the contents on your mem card VERY regularly or you risk losing all of the data.
JayIf it ain't broke. . . break it!!

Saber919: Not sure how much detail to put here, but... Use ActiveSync to copy the cab over to your i760. Once it is there, go to your i760 and run the CAB on the i760 itself. It'll install. I think there's a reboot needed. You should be able to see your HC card. Like Fannatick, I've had a SanDisk 8GB (micro) card in my i760 since they first came out. Works fine; have had no problems.

Saver919: Windows Mobile 6.1 does not require the sdhc cab to see sdhc cards, it is only necessary if you are still running Windows Mobile 6.0. If you are running 6.0 I would highly recommend that you upgrade to 6.1.

Fix for random SD not recognized
In the last month or two the SD card on my i760 randomly disappears. The card works "most" of the time (running WM 6.1). After scouring the net for a couple hours, I finally tracked down this:
Fix SD Memory Card Disappearing, Missing Folder or Corrupt in Windows Mobile Device » My Digital Life
Just change a couple registry entries:
[HKLM\System\StorageManager]
“PNPUnloadDelay“=dword:8196
[HKLM\System\StorageManager]
“PNPWaitIODelay“=dword:8196
Seems to work fine now!!!There is no spoon...

Samsung i760 4GB MicroSD useage.
If you look several posts above you'll see Robrect say "As mentioned above, you only need to download extract and install the sdhc CAB file graciously provided by Nemanracing in Post #41 at the top of Page 3 of this thread. When done properly, that will allow your i760 to happily use all 4 GB of a SanDisk 4GB microSD HC card. No offense, but most Verizon employees couldn't guess their way out of petunia convention on the moon in the middle of winter". (Lol )
The step by step way to get the hack working on your phone is the way way you'd install any cab file (software that can be installed right FROM your phone as opposed to an exe file that needs to be installed to your device on your laptop/PC through either ActiveSync or the Windows Vista Mobile Center that comes with it ). All you would need to do is
1) Download the cab file where nemanracer posted it as stated above on your laptop/PC. Extract the file if its a .rar (winrar) file, by doubling clicking on it, an moving to your desktop. From there/or if it just is the cab file (with the .cab extension on the end) itself and is not a winrar file that needs to be extracted then..
2) Copy and paste the file to your i760 either through ActiveSync if you have Windows XP
or if you have Vista the Mobile Center that already comes on it. The way to do it on ActiveSync is to click "Explore" go to "Device ...." and paste it into either Safestore or your SD Card in there by right clicking and selecting paste.
3) Now go to your i760, use the File Explorer program (I assume its on there as I'm not planing on getting one) by going to Start-Programs-File Explorer and using that to navigate to Safestore or your SD Card, whichever place you decided to put the cab file.
4) Now use your stylus or click with the dpad on the sdhc.cab file, and it will ask you to install it to Device Safestore or your SD Card. Choose "Device".
5) Now restart by either clicking "Ok" if it asks you to restart, or put your stylus in the hole wherever it is located on the device or however you can soft reset/reboot your device. NOW you should be able to put any 4GB MicroSD Card into your i760 and it should work.
I don't believe you can get a 4GB MicroSD Card
working in your device without the SDHC Hack as far as I know. Again, I don't have an i760 but that's what I saw based on peoples reports here.

I popped in a 16Gb MicroSD (SanDisk) in mine and it worked no problem, never had to install any special cab's with new drivers or anything..
Also in my Old HTC Mogul, I used to always have to hard reset it.. But I'd keep the 8Gb MicroSD Card inside it the whole time while it was resetting the phone and I think it'd pick up the card and make it where you didn't need a driver cause I was always able to access the HC Card right away no problems..
Just a theory though, but who knows..

As mentioned before, you only need the cab if you're running 6.0...
