4GB microSD HC
Reading this article:
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/periphera...ast-235777.php
It says that SanDisk has released a 4GB microSD HC. Will this work in the i760? or is this going to give us issues just the HC SD Cards do the i730?

Yes, but my question is, Will the i760 support the "HD" format? The i730 does not. If it doesn't, then the max is only 2GB.

I'm under the impression that microSD is not under the size limitations that standard SD cards are under. I'm sure that there's a limit, but I don't think that it is 2 GB

I think SDHC is built into the microSD standard.

Could you even use more than 2 gig? ...I guess if you were doing a ton of media, you could? ...I dont think I have even used half of my 1 gig card, but i use orb rather than uploading media on the device

This same discussion happen in the i760 rumor thread on 4-7-2007, here is my post about it:
http://www.smartphoneforums.com/foru...0-post958.html
Read point #4. I read the information from 3GSM when it was announced, but it's not going to be until later this year before 4GB MicroSD cards are out, but yes they are coming.
So read my post, as it seems that MicroSD supports SDHC in it's standard.

I don't know if its on the website yet. I am an employee and saw it on our "new products" intranet site. Thats why I just gave you the SKU so if you want to order one, just call customer care and give them that SKU and they will ship it to you.

05-04-2007 08:49 PM #13I can confirm this. I saw it in the system this morning before our meeting.

Wow, 8GB in a microSD, the largest capacity of the iPhone is 8GB. LOL.
I personally can't wait to get a i760 in my hands, this thing with a 4GB card is going to kick my Treo's ass.

Have never heard of the brand, but the 4GB Coby is $59.99 through J&R.
Anyone familiar with this brand?

The maximum size for MicroSD according to the format specification is 20GB. So we have another 3-4 years of waiting left before we hit the limit.

So is the verdict that even though a phone's specs state "MicroSD card up to 2Gb" that the spec is such that it will accept up to 20? Or is it only going to recognize the first 2Gb of the 4?
Any one actually get a 4Gb card yet? have you tried it in your older phone?

Okay, I just received my 4gb microSD cards (Sandisk brand, Amazon). Now I just need something to stick it into! In the meantime, can I use Synctoy to load the data from my 4gb SD card that I use in the i730, and use the SD adapter with it in the i730, or will the "HC" standard create a problem?
