Size: Apple iPhone vs Samsung SCH-i730 vs Samsung SCH-i760

    Hello,

For the visual people on this forum, click below.

My apologies if this was already posted. I did a search and nothing came up.

I got the Samsung measurements via a google search. It's first time I used sizeasy. I hope I did this right.

    Thanks for the chart!

The i760 appears thicker than I was expecting, it doesn't look significantly thinner than the i730. Hopefully it will feel thinner.

IIRC, an early post reported that the 760 was 2/3 the side-width (depth?), and 1/2 the weight of the 730. Also keep in mind that the 760 will not have an external antenna, which is not reflected in these estimates, or the chart in your link, and which will make it much more pocket and belt clip friendly. The iPhone, although thin, looks from the chart to be much bigger than expected.

The iPhone is almost exactly the same dimensions as a Q.

I added the 6700, 6800, and Q as well for comparison. I was personally surprised to realize the 6800 was 1.5mm thinner than the i760.

I used to think I was settled on the i760, but I'm seriously looking hard @ the 6800 again. Maybe I'll just start dialing via BT headset. Hmmmm.

When you plugged in the measurements for the i730, did the length include the antenna or not?

Because having the antenna included will make the entire phone look more bulky (larger rectangle than it actually is), since the length of the phone sans antenna is a good 20mm or so less than with it...

Smile If the iPhone had fast data, would it be the wePhone?

Doesn't everyone? Why the iPhone inteface is largely irrelevant in phone mode, and it is too slow for wireless non-WiFi data.
