A few new boot up options...(Hacking related).

I got this phone with hopes of having access to the NVM directory in Qpst...but no dice.

So I'm trying to find out new things about this phone. I don't know if anyone knows about these, buttt.....

Taking the battery out and holding:

Send (green) + End (red) + Power = "PDA Emergency mode" (PC recognizes it as Samsung MITs USB Sync)

Clr + Right softkey + power = "Phone Emergency Mode" (PC Sees phone as modem and SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port) (note: I don't have the right drivers, I can't communicate with the modem)

Clr + Power = "Pass" in lower left corner

Center button on D-pad + Power = Clear (resets everything except for Nam programming. Also leave PRL in tact).

I was trying to access the NVM to change the number to match that of my MotoQ on US Cellular, so I don't have to talk my way into getting them to activate it....like I said, no go. Let the hacking begin?

So what do these features do for me. None of them seem to provide any advantage. Can you explain more?

Well they're not meant to enhance the phone directly...rather they might be used to exploit the phone in the future...

edit: hmm... Windows says the phone is functioning properly, but Query Modem fails under diagnostics.

Yeah, I get the same thing. I got the drivers from the CD that came with the phone.

Anyone know why when the phone is in "Phone Emergency Mode" the PC can't communicate with the phone? is it a driver issue?

    No progress??

I am getting my USB cable today for my I760. I am working with some brilliant programmers (PH.D's I work with here at the UofA) that are going to help me compile the rom images. If anyone can get me a copy of their ROMs, I would be appreciative!!

Did you check the ROM R&D thread?
I wouldn't say I've been missing it Bob.
