How many people do you hang up on ... accidently

Given the placement of the red (and green) buttons on the phone, I find that I quite often hang up or ignore the phone calls coming in by accident. Especially taking the phone out of my pocket. Also in mid-talk as my finger hits that button by mistake. Anyone have any setting anywhere that can alleviate this? Like a setting to only do its thing if you hold the button for a fulle second or two?

Actually I find I did that too. Aside from just forcing myself to change the way I hold the phone, there is another option.

there is a program called AEButton Plus. You can find it here: AE Button Plus

This will basically allow you to disable that button or reassign it to something else. You can do this for ALL THE BUTTONS.

Really sweet program. Haven't gotten it registered yet, but worth it I think, or you can search for a crack/keygen.

    Hope that helps.

Daverose, a crack/keygen is a program that basically unlocks programs that have registrations or activation codes. you have to make sure you get the right version.

or you could just condition yourself NOT to hit the button. I only use AEButton to remap the TODAY soft keys, as the standard option does NOT allow you to remap to something other than MENU. its annoying. so now i have the touch key for MENU and the soft button key mapped to something else.

I was just thinking about this the other day... it's happened a few times so far. Just have to be conscience of it now.

My first 760 I hung up on no one, and thought it was strange that people were complaining about it. But the wireless radio didn't work on that phone, and when I exchanged, I must have gotten one that had more sensitive buttons.

I hung up on my husband a bunch of times, and still do it on occasion, but now just hold the phone purposefully, to ensure I don't hang up on someone.

I'm really sad I have one now that hangs up, I never thought about my hand placement before, but am conscious of it all the time now.

it's actually my biggest problem with the phone so far. I've hung up on numerous people--the dang button is RIGHT where my thumb wants to rest when I'm holding the phone in my right hand.

If that's the worst thing I can come up with--I can live with that!!

I have hung up on at least a third of my calls, especially if I'm actively doing something while on the phone. Who the heck thought up this great idea of putting buttons on the CORNER and making them sensitive? Sheeze..

If I can make it through the first 15 seconds or so of the phone call, I usually settle into a good position. But it's that first part where I click it.

Someone suggested in another thread just reprogramming the green call and red end buttons so that they require a double press to perform their ordinary functions. This would require a much more deliberate action.

Personally, I haven't needed to do this, though I guess I did hang up on one person inadvertantly in 6 weeks. I must have the learning gene too.
