I have had two I300's (returned first when Best Buy had a much better deal than Sprint). Both had nearly identical displays. My brother has one also, and his backlight is different in character... it's a bit dimmer and greener than either of mine, and more evenly illuminates the display. Also the text is blacker and the colors more saturated. The blindingly bright backlight on mine grays the text out and washes out the colors.

This leads me to wonder... is there a hack which would allow control (reduction) of the backlight intensity? That backlight is WAY too bright for dark-area comfort and we'd perhaps save battery life as well if we could reduce it. Does anybody know of an existing backlight hack which would do the trick, or would it have to be specific to the I300?
