Question USB driver for Samsung SPH I300

    Hi,

I just got a new laptop running XP and the machine has no serial ports. I bought a serial to USB adaptor but I'm still unable to Hot Sync. My hardware profile for the USB port (in Device Manager) says that there is no driver installed. Since the SPH I300 setup disk assumes a serial port I'm hoping there's a USB driver out there.

    Any other suggestions are welcomed.

    Tim

You can use a USB-to-serial adapter cable. I bought one on eBay for about $15.00 and it works fine. I had only one problem: XP reported that it found the adapter when I first plugged it in, but I couldn't hotsync until I installed another driver which came with the cable, on a CD-ROM.

Do all the others have said. Then look in the Device Manager under Ports. My Serial to USB Adaptor show up there as Com 4. Then setup your com port in the Palm Desktop to the Com Port in the DM. Then do a HotSync.
