    problem with x-master and hacks

    Hi...

    recently purchased an i300,

x-master is installed, along with the i300 speakerphone hack and blazer hack from pdaapps...

I'm trying to disable, and uninstall the hacks...

I've selected them, chosen "inactive" from x-master, and then try to delete...both hacks return the message (paraphrased, from memory)
"unable to delete, file read-only" etc...

deleted the hacks from c:/palm/username/backup, and did a hard reset...

x-master is 'still' installed, along with the hacks...

after the hard reset, the only option to delete from the OS is "graffitti", x-master is not an option...

    so...

any ideas, or tips on how to delete both this x-master and the hacks?

    thanks!

    further info

    Hi...

    downloaded "filez"

it would appear that X-master and the two hacks are loaded into
    ROM...

"filez" can't delete the hacks from ROM.

    Here's a question...

do the hacks and x-master load into ROM? (bear with me here, somewhat new to to Palm OS) or do they have to be moved into ROM (which I assume) using a third party app?

If so, does the same app (remember a used phone) have to be used to delete it from ROM?

Or could I use an app like JackFlash, etc...to remove the app and the hacks?

    thanks!

    Arrow

they are not burned into ROm, but they could have a flag set to "read only". getting filez will allow you to go in and delete them that way.

    info

    Hi...

the last owner used flash pro to move some items to ROM...
used the flashpro uninstall utility to reset the ROM and the offending software is gone...

    thanks for looking!
