Help - Screen is not operational at the bottom

    Hi,

I have a I300 and the screen is no longer operational at the bottom 5th of the screen.

    I do not have warranty.

I generally repair my own electronic stuff... Any idea where I can get a replacement LCD ?

    Cost ?

Repair cost or other ideas ?

    Thanks in advance,

if your phone is still under warranty from samsung, which is one year, then you can take it into a sprint store and get the runaround for 4 days like i did. sprint can honor the manufacturs warranty, so i hope that helps.
    over and out....

Check to make sure you don't have JOT installed. JOT isn't compatible with the I300 and, when the phonepad is active, controls the bottom part of the screen. Usually you can't get the 0, * or # keys to work as well as the softbuttons below them.

    Good luck.

I too have the same problem. Whenever JOT is enabled ,the bottom row buttons get disabled. Just sent an email to CIC tech support.

Reply from CIC technical support about JOT :
    "
CIC is aware of the problem you are having on the Samsung I-300. There is
currently no fix in place for this issue. CIC hopes to acquire the new
model from Samsung (I-330) when that is released. It will not be until the
actual device is obtained before our Engineers will be able to look more
    into this problem. "

Looks like the workaround is to disable/enable Jot when using phone keypad. Also since I use Action Names that enables you to dial from within Address book, I wouldnt need to use the phone keypad often.
