I just bought a BAFO model BF-7010 USB-to-IrDA adapter, hoping to be able to hotsync to my desktop computer by infrared (IR), rather than through the cradle. I'm able to establish an IR link, but it only connects with Windows, not with the Palm Desktop program (version 4.1). I've configured the Palm Desktop to use Local USB. Setting it to InfraRed doesn't work because there isn't an internal IR port in the desktop. If I set the Palm Desktop to InfraRed, the I300 hangs up completely, until I do a soft reset.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the I300 communicate with my desktop computer through the USB-to-IrDA adapter? BAFO (the adapter's manufacturer) doesn't provide any answers at their website.
