In my testing, the new version of my TextMessenger fixes callback # issues.

So does that mean that the problem is not on Sprint's side but on the software side?

Yes, it does. In my original fix of my SMS software, I saw the same problem. Upon some small tweaks I found/fixed the problem. It is almost surely a software issue.

If you base code on Sprint's old format, you will likely end up with that bug.

Scott, are you able to reply using your app?

Scott, does your app have the same functionality as I500SMS?

Hmm... I hadn't seen that before... Looks the same, yes. There's gives the ability to do email sms like TextMessenger 2.0 (talked about awhile ago in the i330 forum) -- but other than that, yup, the same.

I thought the main difference between the two apps is that Scott's app only sends to SPCS and PDAApps sends between all carriers. Scott is that still the case?

Sort of... I've been working on the next release that adds many more carriers. Still has no proxy, and a similar interface. I will release it pretty soon. PDA apps real SMS app is their Verichat... which my stuff doesn't even try to serve the same purpose.

    email address now appears

    Hi gang -
I'm still not able to reply to text messages, but just this morning I received a notification of email that had the sender's email address. This was the way it was when I first got my phone but after the "upgrade" the address was no longer there (sounds more like a "downgrade"!) Anyway, at least things are back to where they were!

If you are getting UNKNOWN for your caller id info please list what city you live in. Maybe this only applies to certain areas?

Boston, same problem. Sprint L2 help tells me Palm based phones do not use same system as their other phones (eg, when I send a message to an 8100 is shows the sender info) and given the changes Sprint recently made to the SMS/Text systems we loose. They cannot explain why it used to work or whether it will work again.

    Keep complaining to Sprint.
    That'sssssssss all folks!

I just talked to tier 2, and this lady new exactly what the problem was and confermed that it is a Sprint issue. She said that the last date she herd for this problem to be fixed is this Friday the 27th. But we all know how that goes.
