    Anyone seen an i600?

My second i500 has gone kaput. The first was the main screen, the second was the lower touchscreen.

It seems like the i600 is the same except for the palm OS. Am I right about that?

I would like to play mp3's

The i600 is also an old, discontinued phone. Yes it is almost the same form-factor as the i500. It has been discussed much before. There are threads here as well as a whole forum for the i600. Also you can read more from phonescoop: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=186

My short analysis is: WM Smartphone (not PPC!) software, NO TOUCH SCREEN, more of a battery hog, at least initially it was buggy and unstable and SLOW, NO analog support (AMPS), NO PAM support (cannot use as a modem). Much more expensive than other WM Smartphones (priced like a WM PPC but is only a WM Smartphone).

But the form factor is right (as you can tell, I would consider it a downgrade to the i500).

Can't find the i600 forum. Thanks for the reply. I'll probably stay with the i500 until the i550 gets resurrected.....

    i550 gets "resurrected" ? (sweet dreamin' ...)

The i600 forum is under the Smartphone group, not the PPC group, since the i600 is in fact a Smartphone:

Note that that forum gets so little traffic because the i600 didn't sell all that well. So you must tell the forum options to show threads from the past year. It may be more instructive for you to read the reviews at phonescoop.com, if you're still interested in the i600.

Well I did find that forum, I guess I assumed there was a more active forum somewhere.

It turned out my wife had started the insurance on my phone without me even knowing about it.

So I get a FREE NEWly reconditioned i500 from Sprint which pleases me a great deal. I just hope this one holds up for a couple years. Thanks for the info.
