    Exclamation i500 took a swim

just for nanoseconds in my tea (don't ask).

It went in plug (unhinged) end first.

I took the battery off and blew the plug part out and put on a new battery, but the screen is blank and there is a green light in the front logo.

Am I done with this phone???

When any electronics fall in water, you should always remove the battery and let them idle for 24-48 hours!

Also I would use forceful wrist motions to try to fling out any remaining liquid -- if it went in bottom first, then fling it so that the liquid exits from the bottom with as much centrifugal force as possible.

Let it set for at least 48 hours in a warm dry place sans battery.

As a last resort, an alcohol bath works very well (preferably 95% ethanol). Luckily it was tea, not Coke. Hopefully the tea wasn't sweetened, or worse, lemoned, very much...

    good luck.

slim chances, but if you work in an OR you can put in a towel or saline warmer. Nice dry heat. I did that with my Palm Vx and it worked like a charm.
Save at least 15% on ProClip Products. PM me for info how to order. My website is down now that I dumped comcast for verizon.

Also you might have tried putting it in a refrigerator w/o battery for 24--48 hours (after a good "wristing").

Do you have insurance? There may be some re manufactured ones left.

I was on multiple jaunts out of town and happy to report all is well.

The phone that took a dive was my new replacement from Sprint, which would have been a heavy loss, since the back-up phone (ala eBay) has some quirks, though it is functional.

The tea was unsweetened, pretty hot still and the phone was immediately shaken (I think that may have flared the nasty wrist tendonitis I have been battling the last few weeks, come to think of it). It was a VERY hot day (over 100, I believe) so I set it outside on the deck on top of a white table. It was fine at sundown with a different battery. I let the battery dry for several days.

Thanks everyone for not gathering like vultures for my accessories!
