This maybe difficult to implement and could still create confusion but I think it is worth discussion and investigation. I always cringe a bit when people scream, use search or check the FAQ. There are times it is obvious the person didn't check. At other times I can feel the frustration people have attempting to locate information quickly without reading pages and pages of comments only to not find the answer. Comments do belong in the original thread but not in the FAQ which brings me to my point.

If it was possible to allow us or the moderators to enclose snippets of advice and have it point to a FAQ then the FAQ would only contain one page of vital information from all the sources. In other words an empty FAQ is created then we can insert a FAQ link to an important item from a message and have it point to the FAQ. The FAQ is really a virtual listing of items that are residing else where on the forum.
