    Who will be first: 7135? I-500? Tungsten-W?

With all the rumors re: delays on the Kyo 7135, one wonders if other offerings will be made available to users beforehand. Will it be the Kyocera 7135, the Samsung I-500, the Palm Tungsten W? Here is your chance to vote!

My gut says Palm will make sure the Tungsten W hits the streets first with someone so that the P.R. guys can say they had "the first color smartphone running PalmOS 4.1 on the market." My guess would be it being dumped through T-Mobile with little to no testing.

But that is just my gut. The Time Machine is on the fritz (some kids put sugar into Mr. Fusion on mischief night and make it hyperactive) so I can't go and find out myself.

I'm the sole individual predicting the 7135 to the the first of the group out of the starting gate. (The eternal optimist)

I will be really pissed if the 7135 is not next! On Verizon and will not give up my number!

It's all about marketing at this point

Palm is the only company in that list that isn't replacing an older model with a newer version.

At this point I suspect the delays we're seeing with the 7135 is strictly marketing - Kyo has a lot of 6035's to sell off. No sense in them getting stuck with a boatload of last years toy. Heck, here in Hawaii Sprint was/is giving away the 6035 for free with a 1 year contract!

    Sounds like 1st Quarter, 2003!!!

It is sounding more and more like the 7135 won't make it on the streets until the 1st Quarter!

Cingular is calling and the Verizon is setting...

Cingular? Well, from my experience, it is not a very good company to go with, but I have friends using it in Jersey who are quite happy with them. In New England and the larger Northeast, I recommend avoiding CIngular for coverage... unless you spend all of your time in a city.

And actually, if you spend all of your time in a city, T-Mobile has better deals and more SmartPhones to choose from.

There have been rumors that T-Mobile (owned by German Telco) may sell it to Cingular. Verizon coverage is probably best in Southern Delaware, but not by that much. Cingular would get a big boost when they switch to GSM (? Dec) and if they merge with T-Mobile.

Don't worry your little heads, the 7135 "Will" be out for x-mas.

    That much is certain.

Multiple Verizon sources indicate a 11/15 release date. That is where I would put my money! Soon we'll see if the 7135 is as good as everyone anticipates.

Sprint Store reps in Southern Maryland looking at their upcoming product announcements don't have the 7135 in their current batch. Not a good sign for a November launch. The latest date on Bargainpda is Dec. 15.

The Nov. 15th rumor applies ONLY to Verizon launching it. We have heard from many sources that Sprint won't launch until earlyish next year.

I am hearing from internal sources within VZW, that it's looking more like December now. But still very focused on getting it out by the holidays.

Remember though, these are all rumors and these type of things are always subject to changes.:beer
