    Terminal Services!

I found this Terminal Services application on PalmGear (Palm OS 5 only), and wanted to know how many of you would be interested in it if the developer released it for Palm OS 4. I wrote the developer an email and he told me they were considering making it for OS 4, but they wanted to see what sort of interest there was first. For those of you not familiar with Terminal Services, it is an application that can connect our handhelds to Windows desktops and workstations via the Terminal Services or Remote Desktop capabilities built into many Microsoft Windows operating systems. Since this works using the RDP protocol, it is much faster and more secure than anything out there right now (WinHand, PalmVNC, etc.).

This application is enough to make me consider an OS5 device. I would absolutly purchase it if I could run it on my 7135.

I use TS client daily to run my work 'puter from home. If I could get into my electronic medical record from my 7135 it would be worth a great deal to me.

    That would be cool!!!

Remote access to my server farm via T/S would be great. I'm all for it!!!

I just e-mailed the developer to consider an OS4 release.... I wonder if enough of us do that it'll get done.

    Yes, but...

I would be so frustrated on a 160x160 screen, it may not be worth it. And yes, I know that would only be the viewing area but I would still find it frustrating.

    EDITED TO ADD:
Not Terminal Services for the Palm but you may find this interesting: http://the.taoofmac.com/space/Palm/Software/SmbMate

    Mobile TS 1.5 is out!

I'm happy to announce that today we released v1.5 of Mobile TS with support for OS 3.5 and higher! Please give it a try:

    http://www.ddhsoftware.com/mobile_ts

There is a 10 day demo available. We also added a new pop up keyboard capability.

One thing though- the performance on pre OS 5 devices is nowhere near OS 5. This is because the largest size of memory we can allocate is significantly smaller on older OSs, and we thus had to use databases as a workaround in order to cache all the fonts and bitmaps. But it's still quite useful!
    Thanks,
