Not a PDA/phone topic... but maybe somebody here could help me out...

I have about 400 CDs on the hard drive of my media PC (flac format). I'd like to set-up signal-receiving devices in various spots around the house, to network with the 'server' wirelessly and output the audio to the stereo in that room.

This works (pretty much) with my laptop, but I'd like to be able to have something smaller and cheaper, so I could have one in the bedroom, one in the laundry room, etc.

When I say it works 'pretty much' with the laptop... if the laptop isn't plugged in, sometimes the stream is OK and sometimes it breaks up too much. The media server is wired to the router, which is 802.N, and the laptop has a b/g card.

Thinking about a UMPC perhaps, or an older tablet or touchscreen?

Any thoughts?
