what exactly is a card reader for?

I use mine all the time for transferring files between my computers. Also for quickly loading MP3s and other stuff for use with my Treo 650.

I bought mine primarily to load all of the TomTom maps for the US onto an SD card. Haven't really used it since, but that one use was worth it as I am extremely impatient when it comes to stuff like that.

is simply so much fater than USB or Bluetooth for large files or large number of files that its worth the $5-10.
