    PPCGEEKS?

Anyones know what happened to ppcgeeks.com? It's been down for 2 days.

Sorry, I'm posting it in this forum because I know a lot of users in here go there too.

    Thanks!

It is still up, it is just hard to get on sometimes. Maybe too many users or they're hitting their bandwidth limits?

There was random downtime right before they changed format and then even more so after they changed formats. It was working most of the day yesterday for me so not quite 2 days but definitely down today... Been trying all morning.

edit: hey lookee there, just got in

404 & 500 errors both at initial logon and when linking between pages (when I do finally get in). I wonder if they're getting hacked/attacked?

I can't get on at all now. Not even to the root directory.
Maybe a new ROM has been released and everyone is just trying to get it!
    <-- wishful thinking.

Oops. Just got into root... but still no luck getting into other forums.

I can access the site, but its painting the page very slowly... they must be having some system problems.

They are on a shared server, and have been hitting the memory limits of their available resources for some time. Small fixes have been made repeatedly, but the site has grown very quickly and it appears it is now time to move to a dedicated host. The problem is that dedicated runs about $100/month or more, while the shared was like $100/year.
    Projects: (PeraStats 1.6.5) (PeraCount with Clock 1.2.5) (PeraCount 1.2.5) (PeraProfiler 1.1.5) (S2U2Lock 1.0)

If you know the administrator there, have him contact me... maybe we could work something out. I don't know the guys over there.

Hey guys... thanks for the concern (although I know it's all about the goodies )

I'm one of the moderators over at PPCGeeks. As Waitin said, it's a server issue; our admin Wideawake (Mike) is aware of the situation.

He has posted a couple of times, but I have not seen him online during these past few days. The site is accesible, but it's matter of lucky refreshes and patience since the site is very slow.

Convergent, if I catch Wideawake online I will let him know to stop by this thread and contact you.

    Thanks again!

    Dang!
After two days of really bad problems, it looked they rebooted their server about an hour ago - then absolutely blazing fast for 30 minutes (I guess I was about the first one back on). It's bogged down again ("500 Internal Server Error").

Strange - although the site has grown, the number of users online at any given time is not that high most of the time; nothing near what it was like in early September. As a complete non-IT guy, it just seemed to me that maybe something in the database administration has been tweaked the wrong direction.
