i500 Vs T650? Big size differences?

I currently have an i500 and LOVE it. Especially it's tiny
size that makes it very easy to go everywhere.

I hate using the stylus, and like what appears to be a nice
    keyboard on the T650.

Anybody have any side-by-side pictures to really see
    the difference in size?

    ----------------------------------------------
Also, is there a way to have two phones (like an i500 and a T650)
to work on the same phone line (and phone number) simultaneously?

That would solve my work/vs play dillema with my phones.

Sorry no pictures for comparison, but as a user of both:

    1. i500 wins hands down on size, and that's the last glove it lays on the Treo 650.

    2. Keyboard, screen, Dpad, screen, speed, screen, memory (you start to see the pattern), all go to Treo 650. And when opened, the i500 is actually larger (longer),

    3. Two phones - NO (like that stupid TV commercial). CDMA does not support swapping, like GSM, in the Sprint variety, and that's the only carrier choice for the i500

Also remember, the i500 is the end of the line for Samsung Palm OS devices (forget the i550 - its Dead BEFORE Arrival).
Dale2 - The "P" in PDA is for Personal. There is no "best" PDA.
Sprint CDMA Treo 650 since 11/05

I went to the sprint store today and played with the treo.

I was suprised to find it SMALLER than I had anticipated.
    Bad ass phone.

I will be making the switch soon. Wish they had an EVDO version though..

Amen to that! I just switched from the i5 to the 650 a month ago myself. Aside from the size, the 650 is a better phone in every way. Going from OS4 to OS5 is night and day, like the switch from Win95 to XP. The i5's on screen keyboard pales in comparison to the built in one on the 650.

Heck, once they come out with a 3-4gb SD card, I may get rid of my ipod too.

    Well,

I bought the Treo 650 3 Days ago to replace my i500, and have been playing with it ever since.

    However,

    I AM RETURNING IT TOMORROW.

    Treo 650 Likes:

    Beautiful screen and resolution
    D-Pad for Navigation.

    Dislikes:

Uncomfortable to hold in my hand (too short, compared to i500 open)
    Feels wayyyy to delicate.
with a metal case on to actually protect it, it becomes a brick.
Speed-Dial is a joke, especially with a case on.
(the i500 all I have to do is press a number and go)
Bluetooth with plantronics 2500 sounds like crap.
PCS Vision speed is no better than my i500.
    Open Screen = Broken Screen.

    ---------------------------------------------------------

I am not knocking the phone, it really is nice, especially
the display and features for it's size.

    Although,

    It's a PDA 1st, Phone 2nd.
I already carry a blackberry, so I need what I had before:
    a Phone 1st, PDA 2nd.

Outside of my contact and my attempts to check my AOL
mail - the i500 is close enough.

Do I wish my i500 had an SD slot - Yes
Do I wish my i500 had OS 5.4? - Yes
Do I wish my i500 had a camera? - Yes.
Do I wish my i500 had bluetooth? - Yes.

But I won't give up the size and formfactor of my i500
    for any open phone again.

I have seen the light, and Samsung/Sprint better deliver on that
    damn i550!!

I just went to the 650 from the I500. I loved the Samsung phones size, and being a flip phone it made call seem more natural. But the Treo is lightyears ahead in all other departments - screen size and brightness, keyboard (instead of graffiti or on screen board). The only other feature that I miss from my I500 (Sprint) is voice dial. I had to buy a program to perform that on the Treo (Cingular). Maybe that's a carrier issue. So, if size is your main concern then stay with the Samsung, if not you should make the leap.

Clamshell phones do beat bar phones all to HECK.
But High resolution screens, 5-way buttons and SD slots tip the scale. I couldnt stand the wait for the next best clamshell, but I will be the first to put my T650 on ebay when one comes out.

Same here. I've learned to live w/o voice dial but I really miss the four-digit dial function on the i500. In most cases that worked faster, assuming you memorized everyone's phone number. There's gotta be an app out there that does the same for the 650 right??
