    Virtual Modem not connecting

I activated my 600 without a data plan and accessed the internet by having the virtual modem dial into my ISP, sbcglobal. I just received the 650 but can not get it to connect after setting up the exact same network connection.

Anybody successfully connect to the internet with their 650 using this same process?

Have you had any luck getting the answer to this question? I posted on various sites, and nothing so far.

No. I gave up and opted for a data plan. The guy said to use all the data I wanted for the 1st month and he would credit me back to the $24.99 plan. I must say the speed and quickness to connect is much better.

I sent an email to PDANet to see if this will work. See this link:

Only a 50% solution. The PDANet software sets up a Network Connection on your PC or Laptop and it uses your phone to call your ISP. So, YES, you can use PDANet to connect a laptop or computer to the Internet via a Dial-up connection, but NO you cannot use PDANet to connect your Treo 650 to the Internet to access the Internet software on your Treo 650.

this thread enabled me to connect to the dialup at sonic.net without any problems whatsoever!

I replaced the prompt with Get IP. No reason for doing this except it seemed sensible. It works so I'm not going to change it.

i've downloaded about 50K. Let's see if it shows up on my bill. Unfortunately, I think that today was the first day of my new billing cycle!

Anybody else want to try this??
