    Wireless Sync problem

After installing all my software and successfully hotsyning without error, I loaded wireless sycn and got the following error

    Outlook Calendar
The attempt to open the database failed.
Date Book application database is not found. Please invoke the Date Book application on the handheld once and re-synchronize
    OLERR:05-0001
    OLERR:0D-0004
    OLERR:0D-0001
    - Not Synchronized
    Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
    OLERR:15-0002
    OLERR:06-0001
    Outlook Contacts
The attempt to open the database failed.
    OLERR:02-0001
    OLERR:0D-0004

    Outlook Contacts synchronization failed

    OLERR:15-0002
    OLERR:01-0001
    Outlook Tasks
The attempt to open the database failed.
    OLERR:10-0001
    OLERR:0D-0004
    OLERR:0D-0001
    - Not Synchronized
    Outlook Tasks synchronization failed

I then spent several hours with techs at both Verizon and Palm in an effort to fix the hotsync inssue...we never came up with a good solution...it was agreed by all that for some reason, wireless sync did not like to share with the databbook application. It almost seemed like there was a locked file/non-sharing problem at work here. The only solution we came up with was to hard-reset my Treo, reinstall all the software, NOT install wireless sync and try another third-party provider such as chattermail, snappermail or agendus mail. Each of these packages can automatically pull e-mail down on a pre-set schedule
Once the correct comes out of Verizon, then we can swtich back.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

Well, according to a VZW FAQ or User manual (don't remember which) you need to open the calendar app at least once on your treo before installing wireless sync. Did you do that? Apparently opening it, cause some file to be created that is needed by wireless sync. If the file isn't there, wireless sync will fail. Not sure if this is the problem. Hope it helps.

I followed the following advice from a post over in the PalmOne forums and it fixed the same problem that you are having:

I had the same exact error. This is how I solved it, I hope it works for you.
    -Open Wireless Sync
-Open options, setup, Connection Settings, Advanced
-Make sure that there is a check next to "Enable Other Sync Apps"
Ok all the way back (soft reset?, I can't remember)
After I performed the above I could sync with Outlook again.

I posted the above resolution and it has worked for others. I don't know why Palmone or Verizon can't figure that out. Let me know if it works
