Im just happy they fixed the phone lag and I can now take notes with the stylus instead af typing everthing out so something was fixed with handwriting recognition.

    2) Updates VersaMail to version 3.1 to enhance stability and add improvements

    3) Adds support for more Bluetooth carkits including Acura, BMW, Chrysler, Toyota Prius

    4) Reduces post-dial delay before a call is connected

    5) Send SMS messages from Missed Call Alert or Call Log

I would because after the hard reset and firmware update, you hotsync to get all your data back and that includes the hack. So uninstall the hack then hotsync then proceed with the update, that would be my advice.

    Data

So is Sprint allowing us to use our Treo650 as a modem with no limits or what??

I want to see what happens to other before I get the update. I will still use PdaNet until I confirm that I will be able to do without it. Has anyone on here who has the update used there 650 as a modem yet??

the shadowmite DUN hack did not have to be removed, it just disappeared after upgrade.

I have already been using the modem with the hack through Sprint with no problem

Are you getting the unnamed message also? If so go to "prefs" and then "network". Click on the "modify" button the lower right and then press "no", when the dialog box pops up asking you to duplicate your settings. You'll then have a green padlock and at the top where it says "service", type in "PCS Vision" or whatever you'd like! Hit the "done".

I did that but still did not work. I called sprint and they told me that I did not have a data profile on my phone. They asked me to rset it, then I had to input some numbers and passwords and after 3 million resets, it worked again.

This is an update ony for sprint CDMA, the option is under menu, phone preference with ROM 1.12.

Its says "Ask to add unknown phone numbers after calls".

Got it. I had my "Skinner" application enabled so I couldn't see it. whats weird is that I could see all the other options.

    Thanks

They have released a software update for the 650. Heres the link:

    http://www.palmone.com/us/support/d...ter/sprint.html

The Sprint Download website hasnt been updated as of 4pm and is till serveing the V1.1 update.

From the treo website this is what it fixed:

"What is the Treo 650 Updater 1.12?

Adds support for more Bluetooth carkits including Acura, BMW, Chrysler, Toyota Prius (see all compatible car kits)
Reduces post-dial delay before a call is connected

Now there's a new user guide that incorporates the changes after running the Treo 650 Updater: Treo 650 User Guide (PDF)
Also included from the previous version (released March 2005):

Optimizes memory handling and frees up more memory with non-volatile file system improvements (learn more)
Overall voice quality improvements and enhanced call clarity

    firmware update 1.12 battery drain

After installing the update I notice battery life is shorter.
    before update ver.1.8 7:00a to 12:00a 10% power left.
now version 1.12 7:00a to 10:00p phone shuts off.

I have a Sprint Treo 650 running Chattermail and talk 45 min per day and 1 hour Audible usage.

I also noticed faster battery drain and read around for a bit. One idea on the subject was that the update calculated the indicater based on the assumption that the battery was at 100% as the Sprint directions advised.

I did the update at 75%.

I then redid the update 2 days later at 100% and have no battery problems.
