    best 1 gb sd card?

so I searched...I know I've seen it before, couldn't find it.

do we have a favorite brand of 1 gig sd card, or a least favorite?

    thanks.

Could I add: best 1 GB SD card & READER?

Not to hijack your thread, but I've been wanting opinions on this, myself.

Lexar is garbage. They are too slow for a lot of devices to even use. Their high-speed card is alright, but nothing great.

My 66x Kingmax Platinum has been flawless. Sandisk also has some great high speed cards.

I bought a 512 for holding data and I discovered I can't use it the way I want to use the card. Do you want the gig for music or for other reasons? I have become disappointed with the way Palm deals with the card.

Has anyone compared the Ultra II to the Extreme III?
Anyone know the 650's hardware/software limit for accessing the card?

    Lexar Problems

I have had my second Lexar card go bad. A 256 and a 512 card about a week apart were unable to be read or formated by my Treo650. I have had nothig but problems trying to return them within the 30 days purchased. I will not touch another Lexar card.

Has anyone used one of these yet?

    Sandisk Ultra II Plus

Looks like a handy alternative to lugging an SD reader around.

I have use both Sandisk Ultra II and lexar ( blue and yellow/green top),with great results from both. The ultra may be slightly faster in loading large files from a card reader, but not much difference in the Treo with read/write speeds.
I didn't get good results from a PTI, so all are not created equal in SD cards. But the Lexar and Sandisk seem close so, It really comes down to price...

We have both the Extreme III (1gb) and the Ultra II (512mb) SD cards.

I can definitely report that the Extreme III is MUCH faster. With writes, if my memory serves me correct, I got approximately 18mb/sec. I believe SanDisk says at least 20mb/sec. Still, it is at least twice as fast as compared to the Ultra II.

We bought our 1gb cards for around $135 - which are a bit more money compared to all other cards. I still think it is a bargain considering that about a year and half ago, the basic 1gb SD's were going for a bit more than that.

    Highly recommend the Extreme III.
