getting rid of the chime when lost phone signal

I can't find anything that would tell me how to get rid of the annoying chime/beep/ding or whatever you call it whenever the phone looses reception, and the same sound when it then picks it up again. There is a certain street that has poor reception (can you hear me now; every 100 feet or so it looses the signal then picks it up again, dinging each time. This is driving me crazy. Can anyone tell me how to change this setting?

Ha ha ha. That is so funny. When I first got my Treo 650 a couple months ago, it was making that sound like every 5 minutes or so. It was driving me crazy too! I work in a basement, but didn't even realize it was due to lost reception for quite some time.

It was like the digital version of chinese water torture!
