Can I use a verizon treo 650 as a modem dialing Roadrunner via bluetooth?

I've got Roadrunner working on my phone just fine. Now I'm hoping I can find a way to get my treo to connect via bluetooth to my mac (17" bluetooth enabled) and use my isp for the connection. IS that possible?

I've installed the DUN hack, and that works fine, I can sync fine, and it makes the attempt to connect each time to RR but gets stuck on Authenticating (I've tripple checked my settings, and they're right). I'm successful when I use QNC, it connects fine.

I'm hoping to get around charges. So if anyone knows how to get this config working, I'd be extremely grateful for the help.

Treo 650(w/DUN hack) connecting through Bluetooth to a Mac, hoping to use a RoadRunner connection.

I've scoured all the usual sources (here and other forums) and can't find the answer.

    Thanks!

Did you add the specific modem scripts needed? (per connecting with a mac with bluetooth found in this forum)

I haven't found one specifically for Roadrunner. The one I have right now works for QNC, but isn't working for Roadrunner. I don't want to get charged for data, just minutes when connecting through my laptop.

I would suggest you add all of the modem scripts listed within these links and check each one, one-by-one. I wouldn't be surprised if one ended up working for road runner.
"Step 3: Follow these helpful step by step instructions with screen shots: captnswing.net/howto/treo#98352
(I believe this is another step by step as well:vocaro.com/trevor/treo-du#9837A )

Step 4: I did not find the modem scripts on captnswing’s list effective for my Verizon 650. I did find this script did the trick: http-//aaron.harnly.net/f#97CE8"
(This was from the using you treo as a mac modem with blue tooth found on page 3 or 4 of this forum)

Thanks, but unfortunaely I already had that script running.

I just don't get it! It connects fine if I use the phone under network preferences using the same settings. For some reason I get Authentification failed through bluetooth. When I do QNC through bluetooth it connects fine.

    Here is the connection log:
    Sat Sep 17 12:51:28 2005 : Dialing 9378325511
    Sat Sep 17 12:51:54 2005 : Serial connection established.
    Sat Sep 17 12:51:54 2005 : Using interface ppp0
    Sat Sep 17 12:51:54 2005 : Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem
    Sat Sep 17 12:52:54 2005 : Remote message: ^@
    Sat Sep 17 12:52:54 2005 : CHAP authentication failed
    Sat Sep 17 12:53:00 2005 : Connection terminated.

    Any clues?

We're having this problem here trying to get a new Linux-based dial-in pool operational. Most users of this pool will be Treo650 users.

The Treo650 appears to have been stripped of ANY authentication options. Stock/easy authentication is PAP, but the Treo650 seems to be locked into CHAP with no option to send anything else. We're jumping through hoops to enable CHAP on our new server. But if your ISP doesn't support CHAP, odds are you can't connect.
