    Wireless Sync - Verizon

What's the deal with the SyncExpress feature? It came with my new Verizon phone, but I'm really not sure how I'm supposed to use it.

Of course I set it up using the "follow the bouncing ball" method, now what?

    Anyone use it?

Will it help me in the event of a crash? (And yes, I already back up to my PC 5 times a day, and to the SD at night.)

WirelessSync is for having "push" email, contacts, calendar, tasks, etc.

    You set it up by:
    1) Installing the app on your treo
    2) Creating an account @ www.wirelesssync.vzw.com.
    3) Optionally configuring PCMonitor to connect to and monitor changes in a Notes or Exchange server.

Okay so push contacts from where? Is verizon supplying a server or do I set up a server?

Is there a web page where I can play with a calendar/contacts manager on the verizon web site?

    It pushes email from either:
    1) Up to 3 pop servers or your choosing
    and/or
    2) 1 Lotus Notes or MS Exchange server

It pushes contacts, calendar, etc from either Notes or Exchange.

All notes/exchange related pushing is done using a redirector called "PCMonitor". You install this on a PC and configure it to monitor either notes or exchange. So long as the PC is running and PCMonitor is running on it, as change come into your notes / exchange account, they are pushed out to your phone over the air. (BTW, to realistically use push, you should have unlimited data, or you'll end up with a big bill.)

The flow goes like this for pop mail:
[PopServer] -> [VZW Server] -> [TREO]

The folow goes like this for all notes/exchange related items:
    [Notes/Exchange] -> [PCMonitor] ->[VZW Server] -> [TREO]

You must configure a free VZW server account at:

    www.wirelesssync.vzw.com

As part of the account setup process, it will walk you through setting up the phone, installing PC Monitor if necessary, and configuring Pop settings.
