    Unhappy bad reception

Does anyone know how to improve signal quality? I get very poor reception in my house. Has never been a problem in the past. I'm w/ Cingular.

    Several ideas:

    1. complain to your carrier. Who knows, perhaps they are getting complaints from others in your area also or are planning to add a tower nearby. (Well, it COULD happen.)

    2. Don't use a metal case for your Treo.

    3. Get a booster antenna. I recently bought one of these:

It did help somewhat (maybe about one more bar of signal strength).

I too am a Cingular customer. Try your Sim card in another device (if you have one), and you'll know whether it's the Treo - or Cingulars service in that spot.
My Razor consistantly pulls another bar or two in the same spot as the Treo.
Enjoying carrying only one communications device for all...

My wife has a low end LG and it does fine. My Treo is showing 3-4 bars right now...but I still can't hold a reliable conection in my house.

Maybe there's something wrong with your Treo. I'm on Verizon CDMA and can't compare to your phone, but it seems like you should be able to connect reliably with a signal that strong. Will Cingular replace your phone to see if that's the problem?
