    pTunes - Internet radio

Just got pTunes...... Very F....in' cool!

I went to treobits and identified some internet radio stations which seem to work pretty well.

My question is, can any website that streams audio be played on my Treo? ie: local radio station websites that have an option to "listen live"

I tried just putting the site URL into ptunes, but it didn't seem to work.

No, only mp3 based streams will work with the current Pocket Tunes. That includes Shoutcast, Live365, radioio, and individual ones provided by their respective owners. So ones that are RealAudio or WMA will not work.

Thanks Alex. That's too bad. It would have been a great feature.

Is there a way for me to determine which individual stations use MP3 based streams? (other than shoutcast etc.)

Usually you can tell from the extension of the file at the end of the URL. Usually for WMA, the extension is .wma and for RealAudio it's .ram or .ra. Usually mp3 streams end in .pls (shoutcast), .m3u, or .mp3 (I think).
