A comment on Treo 650 stability...

I got my Verizon Treo 650 as a replacement for my aging Kyo 7135. I was looking forward to a more stable device. Now I'm not so sure. I haven't had any hard resets with the T650...I had a few with the Kyo 7135, but, I am having quite a few soft resets. My CrashPro Log is posted below...as you can see, I really don't think the Treo 650 is more stable than the Kyo 7135...at least in my case. Quite a few crashed have been deleted from the log because they were duplicates so the real count is quite a bit higher.

When you got your 650, did you just hotsync it to your 7135 username or did you create a new username and install the programs from scratch?

I followed the instructions in this forum. I renamed the 7135 folder, etc as recommended. Then installed apps one at a time and had to re-enter my reg codes, etc.

Are you not seeing the amount of resets I am?

That's a lot of 3rd party software. In my experience PalmOS is lot like win 3.1. The stability is entirely a function of the 3rd party software. Odds are that two of those programs conflict.

I would start fresh and install apps 1 or 2 at a time. Then use for a few days. If no problems, add another. I suspect you'll find the culprit.

I've had my 650 a month since I got it as a replacement for my 7135 and have found it much more stable than my 7135 ever was.

So chances are, it is software, or perhaps you just have a flaky phone.
