Please help, problem synchronizing with Outlook Calendar and Contacts.

I have been fighting with my Verizon Treo 650 for some time now and it seems that I am in a really bad situation and have no way of getting out of this without some real pain.

I hope that someone can help or point me in the right direction.

    Here is the scenario:

I got my Treo 650 the first day that they were made available to us via the B2B.

I was happy until the second or third time that I went to synchronize the phone and my Outlook Contacts and Calendar would not synchronize, I was able to finally get this working by deleting most of my Calendar Events.

I have had many issues with this such as events being duplicated due to end times that the old Palm software created but the new software had problems with.

Now I have a problem with not being able to synchronize again, I have tried everything but nothing seems to work.

Most of my updates have been made to the Treo directly and now I cannot synchronize the data for backup or viewing in Outlook. I was going to send the phone back to Verizon, but since I cannot backup my Outlook data, I am in a catch 22 situation.

I have tried the “Outlook Conduits for Palm Update v1.02” to no avail; I have also tried to have the “Handheld overwrite the Desktop” and also the “Desktop overwrite the Handheld” (I really didn’t want this because all updates are on the Handheld), nothing works.

Here is the output from sever attempts:

I just switched from my Kyocera 7135 to this phone and I'm starting to think this was a HUGE mistake.

I'm having the same problem...I've tried all the "fixes" on the board, but nothing works.

Does anyone know if you can use Intellisync to synchronize?

The software that came bundled sucks!

The sega continues...I got so p*ssed off at this phone I did a hard reset and uninstalled all the apps off my computer. I've only put back on the Treo/Palm desktop and have sync successfully.

I'm waiting for this to break again, then I'll try this from another post on the board:

Try the below procedure on any conduits that aren't syncing. Easier than it may look and clears up the above problems quickly.

Well, when I deleted ContactsDB-PAdd.pdb, the Treo refused to sync any contacts despite resetting and restoring the file. I ended up having to delete 5 files to get it to work:

    ContactsAVIndex-PAdd.pdb
    ContactsDBIndex-PAdd.pdb
    ContactsDB-PAdd.pdb
    ContactsSimDB-PAdd.pdb
    AddressDB.pdb

I moved them off to a folder on my SD card in case I did need them. I then manually did a soft reset and let the Treo rebuild the indexes and AddressDB file. Of course they were blank (as I wanted).

Finally, I set the PocketMirror Professional XT conduit for Contacts to "Outlook overwrites Handheld" for the next sync and performed a hotsync. Outlook then transferred all the contacts back to the Treo.

Unlike JohnH, my Treo did not reset after that restoration hotsync. So far, so good. I've done a few more hotsyncs and added test contacts to ensure that it is working. Seems to be fine now.

Obviously, there was some kind of corruption in the database and the Treo was choking on it during "Clean up". The insidious thing about these kinds of errors is that you never know what application may have done the damage.
