    Help with Outlook Sync

I just had my i500 replace by Sprint with a Treo 650. I want to sync with outlook to get all of my contacts up to date. I un-installed pocketmirror and the old Palm desktop. Deleted the PalmOne folder from the HD, Deleted the Pocketmirror folder form my outlook folders, Rebooted. Then installed the Palm Desktop 4.1.4E Then installed the Outlook Conduit Update 1.02. The 650 syncs OK for everything but my Outlook stuff. I am using Outlook 2003 that is connected to an Exchange server at work. All I want to do is keep my contacts in Sync with Outlook. The errors I am getting in the log are listed below.

Can anyone help me out here?

    TIA

Is it possible for me to use Pocketmirror Standard 3.1.6 That I used with my i500? If so, do I set the new Palm desktop to sync contacts, or outlook?

Did you get the 650 CD with the phone? You have to use that version of palm desktop to get everything to sync right. The 650 has it's own conduit for Outlook sync also. I had your issue even after deleting all the old palm related software off the PC, but a email to palm with the info you put in the message got back a solution that fixed things in just a few minutes. You absolutely have to use the 650 palm software though.

I did not get the CD from Sprint. They gave me everything except that. Is there somewhere that I can download the origianl CD image?

Once I get the CD, Do i load that Palm Desktop and leave it at that version, or do I upgrade to the latest and than add the outlook patch?

I would suggest calling a Sprint dealer. There is a Palm desktop available on the palm website for the 650 now, but there are other extras you would benefit from as well on the CD, like Documents to go.

With the 650 palm desktop, the outlook conduit is built in to it. If memory serves me, it will ask what conduit you want to use during the install if others are around. I suggest personally you use the one in Palm desktop itself, no other apps are needed then.

Sorry for the late update. I was not able to get the CD from the Sprint Store. I am going to try another one to see if they can help me out. However, I did get it working with my old Palm Desktop/PocketMirror combo. I just removed them both from my PC, deleted the folder in Program Files, and deleted the Outlook folder that Pocketmirror creates. Then I just installed the old Palm Desktop 4.1.4, PocketMirror Standard 3.1.3, and the PocketMirror 3.1.6 update just liek it was a new install. Everything works fine now.

What version of Docs to Go comes on the Sprint CD? I have D2G Premium Version 5...

    Hello j.mccann,

I believe the Treo 650 came with Documents to Go 7.0 Professional. Premium editions are a bit more robust than Professional. In the meantime, DataViz has upgraded Documents to Go to version 9.

    Sincerely
    Kevin
