    Roaming Client Edge <==> Wifi

    I just bought my wife an E-Ten X-599 (Glofish) which is WM5/GPS/EDGE/WiFi. On my Symbian 60 3, I have a client called "smartroaming" from a company called Birdstep which automatically moves my PDA from 3G to Wifi and back. It is real slick. I don't need to think about it, when I step off the wifi platform, I simply move to UMTs.

    I was wondering if there was anything similar for the WM5 platform.

    Thanks.

    Birdstep signs SmartRoaming agreement with major Aisian Phone ManufacturerBirdstep Technology ASA today signed an agreement with a major Asian mobile phone manufacturer to integrate Birdstep's Windows Mobile 5.0 based SmartRoaming client into the manufacturer's next generation Wireless Broadband Smartphones.
    The agreement covers customization work to support two leading edge next generation devices as well as licensing of Birdstep's SmartRoaming technology when the phones are shipped to market.

    The phones will be shipped for operator trials early 2007 and Birdstep expects license revenues from commercial deployments from this agreement to start during second half of 2007.

    Doesn't appear to be available at least on a retail basis in WM5 yet.

    If you go to www.birdstep.com and sends them an E-mail they might give you one for testing...
